Data Collection Executive Overview

This course introduces the basic elements of data collection planning, including explanations of data in its most basic forms and the reasons why unbiased data is of value to an organization. The course outlines the steps in obtaining a truly random sample from which to collect data. Once a sample has been obtained, a number of various data collection techniques can be used to record the observations of the data collectors.

Learning Outcomes
Upon the completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Distinguish between different types of descriptive and quantitative data
  • Identify the purposes and limitations of random, systematic and stratified sampling methods
  • Identify the capabilities and usages of five data collection techniques (Check Sheets, Concentration Diagrams, Flowcharts, SIPOC Diagrams and Process Mapping)

Each participant will receive a Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the seminar.
